“Puttin’ on the Ritz”

“We Are Fools Whether We Dance or Not.  So we might as well Dance.” – Japanese Proverb

I was always fond of how Fred Astaire danced… He had the “Original Swag.”   It fascinated me to see the major influence he had on such greats as Gene Kelly, and of course the late Michael Jackson (Smooth Criminal was inspired by Fred Astaire’s  film ‘Bandwagon’).  This photo is from the film ‘BandWagon’, and it features Fred & Cyd getting down.  They had much precision and soul to their movements.  A concise groove in their choreography that is to be appreciated.

I love watching old films just to see these true dancers do their truest art.  Check Fred out in “Putting on the Ritz” He’s at his best rocking the Penguin suit.
